Pinewood Derby is upon us already. This year we will be having a design contest. Attached is the instructions for each scout to follow (remember to only vote once to give each scout a chance). If you have any questions feel free to email me at verny@pacbell.net. Please thank Lisa Robertson from Tigers Den 7 for setting up this design contest for the Pack.
If you do not have your pinewood derby car yet please let your den leader or email me as well. Race instructions are supplied with the car. Cost per car is $10.
Rocket Academy was a blast! We had about 10 families camping, and another 6 or so come up for the day on Saturday. We forced the boys on a 1/2 mile death march up the mountain, the food was good, the pool was freezing but refreshing, and the campfire was great. A special thank you to Tiffany Richer for leading the boys in telling jokes between skits.
Between building and shooting rockets, cheap planes and great weather, I couldn't ask for anything more.
The character connection for March is Compassion. With that in mind, Pack 201 would like to show our thanks and compassion for those serving our country oversees.
In the Law of the Pack, a cub scout gives good will and in the Boy Scout Promise, a boy scout promises to help other people at all times. By participating in a Scouting for Food program, scouts come a step closer to fulfilling those words. Across the country, in many councils and districts, thousands of troops and packs with millions of scouts involved collect tens of millions of pounds of food which is distributed to needy neighbors.
