Just a reminder that our next Pack Meeting will be Thursday, October 18th, at a different chruch this month, First Luthern Church, 6:30PM.  Please bring a carved pumpkin to display.

Cub Haunt 2012

Hello Scouters!

We will be going to Cub Haunt again this year, which is October 26th - 28th.  If you are interested and available, go on-line (http://www.vhcbsa.org/camping/cubon.htm) for more information and (http://www.bookking.ca/bkvhcbsapub/index.asp) to register. The cost is $40 per person, or $20 if you just want to day-camp on Saturday. There are still 381 openings available as of Wednesday 10/3. Meals will be provided as part of the fees.

This is one of the easiest "roughing-it" camping trips you'll ever take. This is also the only place for your Cub to earn the Archery and BB Gun belt loops. Please see below for a (hopefully) helpful tutorial on registering.


You'll need a username and password to login.  If you have already used this site for previous camping registration, just log in. Otherwise, you'll need top create a new account.

I've heard from some parents the process is not intuitive.  Good luck.

2. Click on Cub Haunt
3. Click on Register Now
4. Log in or create a new account
Most likely a new account... Fill in the parent contact info, Unit Number is 201, Council Name is Verdugo Hills.
5. Once confirmed, go to the My Account page and click on the My Group Members tab
6. Fill in the info for any spouses and siblings (and the scout, of course)
7. If this is done correctly, go back to register now for Cub Haunt
8. Click on the check box of the attendees and click continue
9. Choose the appropriate option in Select Rate for each person
10.  Click checkout and pay.

Workbooks for Waiting Rooms

Please bring new or used children’s workbooks or notebooks to our next pack meeting. These books will be place at our local Hospital waiting rooms.

Rain Gutter Regatta 2012

Pack 201 invites you to join us September 16th, 12pm @ Verdugo Park for our yearly Rain Gutter Regatta (corner of California Street and Verdugo Ave, Log Cabin area). Bring your own picnic lunch and a dessert to share. Drinks, napkins and plates will be provided. You may also want a blanket or camp chairs to sit on. If you are intrested in joining Cub Scouts please visit us, we will have membership info as well as our Leaders there, or just click on "Contact Us" on the left menu of our website.

Memorial Day Flag Laying Ceremony

Boy Scout Troop 201 invites all the Cub Scouts and their families to the annual flag laying ceremony at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery (10621 Victory Blvd., No. Hollywood) on Friday, May 25th.  Please arrive at 4 pm for instructions.  There will be a brief ceremony starting at 5:00 p.m. and then we will set out about 500 flags with the help of Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and other Boy Scout troops. Scouts and Scouters (adult Scout members) should come in full Scout uniform.

Pinewood Derby Design Contest

Pinewood Derby is upon us already. This year we will be having a design contest. Attached is the instructions for each scout to follow (remember to only vote once to give each scout a chance). If you have any questions feel free to email me at verny@pacbell.net. Please thank Lisa Robertson from Tigers Den 7 for setting up this design contest for the Pack.

If you do not have your pinewood derby car yet please let your den leader or email me as well. Race instructions are supplied with the car. Cost per car is $10.
